Day 4: Bauhaus 22/11/2018

On the 4th day we all met at school together as usual. After a reflection of the project at the Habima in Tel Aviv (a very beautiful place to sit with trees, flowers and classical music playing in the background)...
...we went to the ,,Tel Aviv Bauhaus Center“. There, we first watched a movie about the function, the construction and the history of the architecture in Tel Aviv. Afterwards we all got guided through the city and we saw a lot of beautiful and interesting buildings which are typical for the Israeli architecture.
Waiting for the Bauhaus-Tour and tasting new Israeli specialities.

The Bauhaus architecture describes three different principles:
1. volume instead of mass
2. balance instead of symmetry
3. functionally way of building; no unnecessary details or ornaments

an untypical symmetrical building, just built like a theatre stage...

In the 30th the German Jews who escaped to Palestine were only allowed to take building materials but not their money with them. So you can still see tiles and brass frames on the doors.

Rainy moments ...

Later on we met at school again at 2 pm and we all worked on the project. That day, we finally started to film it and we had a lot of success. We split in different film groups: Documentary group, Interview group and the actual Film group. We were able to film the first really important scenes.

When the work was over, almost everyone of the exchange group went to the cinema to watch the movie ,,Bohemian Rhapsody” in English, which was amazing because it wasn’t expensive and we were able to do something all together.
The teachers were watching the cinema from above - from the roof of the Hotel Cinema where Yitzchaki and his band gave a Jazz concert :-)
